Frequently Asked Questions

1. Who makes vortex optics?

While product design and engineering are done in the U.S., manufacturing is spread globally: high-end models are assembled in the U.S. and Japan, mid-range optics are made in the Philippines, and entry-level products are manufactured in China.

2. Are vortex optics good?

Yes, Vortex Optics are widely regarded as high-quality and reliable. They offer excellent performance across a range of price points, from entry-level to premium models. Known for their clear glass, durable construction, and generous warranty, Vortex products are popular among hunters, shooters, and outdoor enthusiasts.

3. What is vortex optics warranty

Vortex Optics offers a VIP Warranty, which is an unlimited lifetime warranty that is fully transferable. It does not require a receipt or warranty card and covers any defects or damage, regardless of how the product was obtained. However, it does not cover loss, theft, misuse, or intentional damage.

4. How long does it take to ship vortex optics

If in stock, we ship our Vortex products out of our warehouse in QLD Murrarie 4172. Delivery times to your postcode can be calculated using the auspost calculate postage app. https://auspost.com.au/parcels-mail/calculate-postage-delivery-times/#/

5. What is the difference between MOA and MRAD?

MOA (Minute of Angle) and MRAD (Milliradian) are ways to measure angles, similar to how inches and centimetres measure length. In shooting, MOA is often linked to accuracy at distance—1 MOA equals roughly 1 inch of movement on a target at 100 yards. MRAD works the same way but uses a different scale, with adjustments typically made in 0.1 increments. Both are used to help you fine-tune your scope and hit your target more precisely.

6. What is the difference between SFP and FFP?

First Focal Plane (FFP) and Second Focal Plane (SFP) refer to where the reticle sits inside a rifle scope. In a First Focal Plane scope, the reticle changes size along with the image as you zoom in or out—so the scale between the reticle and the target stays consistent at any magnification. In a Second Focal Plane scope, the reticle stays the same size no matter how much you zoom, while the image gets bigger or smaller. This means the reticle only shows accurate measurements at one specific zoom level, usually full magnification.
